Marilyn Beker

Marilyn Beker, a member of Self Realization Fellowship and a Kriyaban since 1972, served on staff at Song of the Morning Ranch as a personal assistant to Yogacharya Oliver.

Since then, her study and practice of the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda as presented by Self Realization Fellowship have informed her life and her professional work as a writer, film maker and Professor (now Emerita) in the School of Film and Television at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.

She is the author of three books published internationally by Routledge , has written extensively for all forms of media and has lectured internationally, focusing on ethical and personal story telling. She is a recipient of several teaching awards and the Visionary Leader in Education Award from Shorts International for her work in short film.

Marilyn and her husband are residents in the Clear Light Community and she is delighted to be able to bring her wide range of experience in writing, teaching, workshop co-ordination and presentation to Song of The Morning’s Spiritual Living Programs.
