Music and Chanting as a Form of Yoga
With Naren K. Schreiner and Lopamudra Bose
August 16 - 19, 2018
Program Fee: $198
Paramahansa Yogananda wrote, “Sound or vibration is the most powerful force in the universe. Music is a divine art, to be used not only for pleasure but as a path to God-realization.” With our united hearts, minds, and voices we will immerse ourselves into sacred vibration, chanting of Aum, devotional songs (traditional kirtan of India as well as the Cosmic Chants of Sri Yogananda) and also the relationship these share with silence and meditation. We will also learn how to use sacred music in daily life. But it doesn’t stop there. Our relationship with our voice is profoundly connected to our sense of self, and for most people this very awkward! The voice holds many keys to healing and soul-realization. He defined sacred chanting and kirtan as “an effective form of yoga.”
