A Spiritual Living Retreat

“We can worship God as Father, but we can also worship God as the Divine Mother—for Mother is closer than the Father.”

— Paramahansa Yogananda

We invite you to this special extended retreat, Thursday through Sunday, for a deeper immersion into the sacred presence and mystical experience of the Divine Mother through Paramahansa Yogananda’s path of meditation, devotion, and chanting.

Inspired by Paramahansa Yogananda’s profound love for the Divine Mother, this retreat explores the ancient tradition of the Motherhood of God through meditation, devotional chanting, inspirational talks, and opportunities for deep inner communion. Guests will have the opportunity to experience a traditional Kali Puja, which Paramahansa Yogananda regularly performed during his youth, along with devotional practices that help cultivate a more personal relationship with the Divine Mother.

“Receive Me on Thy Lap…”

— Paramahansa Yogananda, Cosmic Chants

Led by Naren K. Schreiner and Lopamudra Bose, who are both trained in India’s traditional worship of the Divine Mother, this retreat offers opportunities to explore the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda, participate in devotional chanting, meditate deeply with fellow seekers, experience Nature’s temple, and enjoy meaningful personal reflection in the peaceful surroundings of Song of the Morning. Together we seek to draw ever nearer to the loving presence of the Divine Mother.

What to Bring for Retreat:

  • Journal and/or notebook
  • Meditation shawl and meditation cushion
  • Flowers, fruit, sweets (egg-free), nuts, or a monetary offering for Kali Puja (optional)
  • Respectful attire for Kali Puja (traditional Indian clothing is welcome but not required)
