A Spiritual Living Retreat

“The heart’s natural love (shraddha) is the principal requisite to attain a holy life.”

~ Sri Yukteswar

We invite you to this special extended retreat, Thursday through Sunday, allowing for a deeper immersion into how to cultivate the heavenly gift of love innate in every heart. To many, meditation is a practice of the mind. But the spiritual heart is vital in meditation. The retreat will focus on Sri Yukteswar’s teachings about the five stages of the heart, the removal of the eight meannesses of the heart, and the ultimate goal of the “magnanimous heart”, as well as Paramahansa Yogananda’s teachings on the development of devotion, intuition and divine love.

“Heart’s lotus will blossom forth, darkness will steal away!”

~ From Cosmic Chants

Led by Naren K. Schreiner and Lopamudra Bose, the retreat will give opportunities to explore the illuminating and practical teachings of great Gurus, enjoy devotional chanting, and most importantly meditate deeply and heartfully with a group of sincere and committed souls. Experience Nature’s temple and meaningful personal reflection. Receive the grace flowing from the Divine with the gathered devotees on this sacred land that has been a spiritual sanctuary for over 50 years.

This Meditation Retreat is part of an annual three-part series. Guests are welcome to join for one or all three in 2026, taking place in March, July and November. Each Meditation Retreat is suitable for beginners and long-time meditators alike, and will focus on a specific theme to help participants deepen their practice in a new way.

What to Bring for Retreat:

  • Journal and/or notebook
  • Meditation shawl and meditation cushion
  • Write down any questions or doubts you have about your meditation practice
  • Bring inspirational quotes or passages about meditation and devotion that you might share with the group
