A New Vision: The Annual GLYTA Teachers' Retreat

Calling all Golden Lotus Hatha Yoga Teacher Graduates!

We are extending a special invitation to all graduates of the GLYTA School of Yoga. That’s because, at this retreat, GLYTA is introducing a dedicated Continuing Education component and wants to make it available to everyone–long-standing members or graduates who have yet to join the Association.

In re-imagining its retreat, GLYTA is moving beyond a simple gathering to create a weekend of directed methodology in specific new teaching practices. This year’s retreat is centered on chair yoga and meditation preparation exercises to help its teachers expand their offerings and deepen their professional and personal mastery.

Chair Yoga has consistently appeared in the Top 10 fitness trends in the ACSM annual surveys and Google searches for chair yoga are frequently among the highest volume yoga-related services, reflecting its role as a primary entry point for beginners and those with limited mobility. There are over 11,000 senior centers in the U.S., serving more than 1 million older adults daily, where chair-based programming is now considered a standard offering. Expanded teaching opportunities abound!

As we are taught in our training, hatha yoga postures look different for all bodies. We hope to open up opportunity for more people to experience the healing and spiritually transfomrative benefits of this practice.

Program Fee: For this retreat only GLYTA is gifting all graduates a $250 Continuing Education Credit. $125 of this amount will cover the cost of the retreat. The remaining $125 can be applied toward the enrollment cost (TBA) of an exciting new 6 part certificate Chair Yoga training program to be presented virtually.

Lodging & Meals: GLYTA is sponsoring this event, allowing the cost of meals and rooms in the Domes to be offered at a reduced rate. Rooms in our other buildings are available at standard rates for those interested.
